Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Intent application ("the App", "Intent", "Service") operated by Intent ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Intent, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Intent is a macOS productivity application that uses artificial intelligence and optical character recognition (OCR) technology to analyze on-screen content in real time. The App determines whether your current activity aligns with a user-defined goal and provides automated interventions (such as tab closures and nudge notifications) when it detects misalignment.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Intent on your personal macOS device(s) in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part thereof.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• The content displayed on your screen while using Intent
• Ensuring you have the right to process any content visible on your screen through the App
• Providing accurate focus goals within the App
• Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

4. Screen Analysis & OCR Technology

Intent uses OCR technology to read text visible on your screen. This data is processed in real time for the sole purpose of determining task alignment. We want you to understand the following:

• Screen text is captured and analyzed in real time
• We do not store, log, or retain any screen data on our servers
• We make no guarantee of 100% accuracy in content detection, classification, or filtering
• The App may occasionally misidentify content as aligned or misaligned with your stated goal

5. Sensitive Content Filtering

Intent employs proprietary algorithms designed to identify and strip sensitive information (such as passwords, financial data, personal identifiers, and other confidential content) from captured screen text before any further processing occurs. However, we cannot and do not guarantee that these filters will be 100% accurate or comprehensive. By using Intent, you acknowledge and accept this limitation.

6. Third-Party Services

Intent relies on OpenAI's API for AI-powered analysis. After sensitive content filtering, processed screen text is transmitted to OpenAI for task-alignment analysis. By using Intent, you acknowledge that:

• Filtered screen text is sent to OpenAI for processing
• OpenAI's handling of this data is governed by OpenAI's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
• We are not responsible for OpenAI's data handling, storage, or processing practices
• We recommend you review OpenAI's policies to understand how your data may be handled by their systems

7. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF THE APP'S CONTENT ANALYSIS, OCR PROCESSING, OR SENSITIVE CONTENT FILTERING.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL INTENT, ITS CREATORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Intent and its creators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

10. Subscription, Payment & Cancellation

Intent offers a free trial period followed by a paid subscription. Pricing, billing frequency, and trial length are displayed within the App and may change over time. Any price you are charged at the time of purchase remains locked for your subscription. Continued use after any price change for new subscribers constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the cancellation link provided on our website. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which access will be discontinued. We do not offer refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or any amounts already charged.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Intent at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may stop using Intent at any time by uninstalling the App. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Intent after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of the jurisdiction in which Intent operates.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
